Virginia “Ginny” Knust passed away on February 19, 2021 at the age of 68. Ginny was born August 13, 1952 in Nutley, NJ. She graduated in 1970 from Nutley High School and in 1974 from Glassboro State College.
In 1981, Ginny married her then-husband Frank Vanore and soon moved to Wall Township, NJ where they raised three daughters: Allison, Dana and Krista Vanore. Ginny supported her daughters in all of their endeavors including sports, homemade movies, music, and more.
In 2001, Ginny completed training at Somerset School of Massage Therapy and began her own business as a massage therapist, Massage with an Educated Touch in Brielle, NJ. She simultaneously worked at The Milagro Spa at The Atlantic Club in Manasquan, NJ. Ginny spent her career volunteering at local 5K runs and events, supporting other therapists, and gracing her clients & community with her healing touch.
Her friends knew her lovingly as Ginny, and her biggest fans (her grandkids) knew her as GG. She was a lover of life. She was exuberant, active, health conscious, fun, extremely caring and loyal. She loved the outdoors and going on walks with her family and friends. She was a healer, a lover of golf, good music, and a glass of wine. She was a whiz with a sewing needle (which supplied her children with many a homemade Halloween costumes over the years), and was a gardening enthusiast. She loved sunflowers, hummingbirds, a nicely vacuumed rug, and a good book. Ginny made life-long friends who she loved and treasured immensely.
Between 2007-09 Ginny fought and beat breast cancer. In 2019 she was again diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She fought valiantly until her passing in February 2021, just after meeting her fourth grandchild and namesake, Stella Virginia.
Ginny is survived by her daughters Allison Vanore, Dana Vanore, Krista Szoboszlay, son-in-laws Rob Gokee, Zack Gray, Ian Szoboszlay, grandchildren Jameson Gray, Ascher Gray, Piper Gray, Stella Szoboszlay, sisters Dr. Linda Knust, Valerie Knust, brother William Knust, sister-in-law Judith Knust, nieces Alicia Knust, Melissa Tauriello, Emily Knust, Holly Harriss, nephews Michael Tauriello, Marc Tauriello, Ryan Knust, and great-nieces Annika Traxler and Zoe Traxler. Ginny is predeceased by her parents Carol Knust, William Knust, sisters Shirley Knust, Ruth Tauriello, and brother-in-law Michael Tauriello.
In place of a traditional funeral service, a Celebration of Ginny’s Life will take place in the Spring. The family asks that donations be made in her name to METAvivor.
