Sharon (Jerkins) Coulter lived a life full of faith, and on January 12, 2021 was finally cured from her cancer on this Earth. She persevered through many obstacles throughout the years. She was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1998, and faced it head on. Her boys were 4 years old and 18 months at the time. She was determined to see them grow up, and she did. She was an educator for almost 30 years. She educated children and advocated for literacy in and out of the classroom.
Twenty years after her first diagnosis, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. She praised God that she had been given so many years with her family, and continued to pray for more. She faced the battle courageously (as she did everything in her life), and with a spirit that we can all admire. She made it her mission to educate others about MBC, and advocate for funding and research. She made sure the city of Pascagoula participated in the Light Up for MBC campaign lighting the lighthouse in MBC colors.
Left to continue her legacy are her beloved husband of 36 years, Jerry Coulter; two amazing sons, Jonathan and Dillon, and daughter-in-law Brittany. She will also be loved and remembered by her siblings, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
