Nicole (Niki) Lindgren Moran, 45, passed away on October 5, 2021, a victim of Metastatic Breast Cancer, in Burke, VA. She is survived by her husband, Joe Moran, of Burke, VA, her parents, Randahl and Anita Lindgren, of Burke, VA, and her brother, Dr. Kjell Lindgren, of League City, TX, as well as many extended family members, close friends and colleagues.

Niki was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas on April 15, 1976. She graduated in 1994 from Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax County, VA, where she was active in theatre. It was here that the seeds were planted for her career as a performer. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a BA in Theatre in 1998.

In 1999 she was ready to ply her trade at the famous improvisation theatre venues in Chicago, IL. Soon, her off-beat sense of humor, at the Improv Olympics and Annoyance Theatre would hone her improv skills and she won a slot to perform with the famous Second City touring Improv comedy troupe and on The Second City stage. While living in Chicago, she supplemented her performing salary with a “day job” at Centerprise Advisors as an office manager.

Next, she decided to test her marketability in Hollywood and moved to California in 2009. In California, Niki round a completely new career. A 2015 MA degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles netted her employment as a therapist at Klean Treatment Centers. She would later open her own private therapy practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in East Hollywood in 2020.

Her relationship with her future husband was rekindled in California after a long distance relationship that began in high school. Joe and Niki were married on June 9th, 2018 in Northern Virginia. They began their marriage in East Hollywood, CA. Niki’s three-year breast cancer battle concluded for the last seven months living in Northern Virginia near both Niki’s parents and Joe’s parents, Patrick and Mary Moran.

She was a bright light in the darkness, who’s smile was a dominant feature mentioned by nearly everyone that contacted the family since her passing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Virginia on November 6, 2021 at 10:30 am. The service may be attended in person or live-streamed at www.lordoflifeva.org.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to METAvivor to support the fight against metastatic breast cancer.
