Mary Kay Brown was a joyful person who was beloved by her family and friends. Her excitement for the adventure of life was only matched by her love for her family.
Mary Kay was diagnosed with Stage II B breast cancer in 2013. After concluding her first treatments in 2014 she became involved with the Pink Phoenix Dragon Boat Club, America’s first breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams. With Pink Phoenix she found happiness, support with her fellow survivors and a passion for the sport.
In 2017, she fought a courageous but too short battle against recurrent metastatic breast cancer that ended on December 26, 2017. She is terribly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family.
Mary Kay would encourage everyone to continue to fight against breast cancer by donating non-profit research organizations like METAvivor.
