Maria Wallmark left us on July 8 2023. Maria was the beloved wife of Daniel and devoted mother of Ellen (12) and Emil (9). Daughter of Tommy and Eva. Sister to Elin and Per. Also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, friends and colleagues.
Maria was born on November 14th 1983 and lived in the Linköping area during her childhood. The last 14 years she lived together with her husband Daniel near Jönköping. Maria loved doing creative things such as painting, sewing, photography, gardening, decorating and cooking. Maria also enjoyed all kinds of physical activities such as yoga, swimming, walking, running and she loved to work out. She often went on long walks in nature with the family’s dog Charlie. Keeping active was especially important to Maria during her illness and helped keep her strong, mentally and physically.
Maria was 36 when first diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She did absolutely everything she could to fight this disease back. She tried all conventional treatments offered in Sweden and travelled to Germany to receive groundbreaking new treatment. She read books, scientific research reports and everything she could find to give herself the best chance of getting better. This commitment kept her going and gave her hope. She stayed positive and determined throughout and gave her body the best possible conditions to fight back the cancer, but in the end the cancer finally won.
Maria will always be remembered as a positive and smart person with a strong driving force in everything she chose to do. Maria enjoyed everything that life had to offer, especially the small daily moments here and now. Maria will keep living in the hearts of her nearest and dearest, especially in her daughter Ellen and her son
Emil. Thank you Maria for all the love, laughs, moments and memories.
