Maria Overdorf, 42, of West Chester PA, died peacefully Sunday, May 31, 2015, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 13, 1972, in Sellersville, Pennsylvania Maria attended Souderton Area High School and West Chester University. A clinical data manager in the pharmaceutical industry, Maria loved the outdoors, the ocean and all things tropical. She was a true biologist at heart and loved all animals but horses were her passion.
A real outdoorswoman, Maria enjoyed hiking, camping, gardening, kayaking, snorkeling and especially riding her horses.
She was a member of the Chester County Trail Club and the Brass Ring Riding Club.
Maria is preceded in death by her mother, Roselyn Marrazzi.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Ken Overdorf and Louanne Kirn Pottstown PA; step-father John Lieggi Carneys Point NJ; sister Ashley Torres Carneys Point NJ; brother and sister-in-law Kurtis & Jessica Overdorf Malvern PA; niece and nephew Angelina and Antonio Torres, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Maria’s life will be celebrated with a memorial luncheon at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, at Bell Tavern Park Pavilion #1 located at 100 Bell Tavern Lane, Downingtown PA 19335.
In keeping with Maria’s love of the outdoors, the memorial will be an outdoor event, so be sure to dress comfortably. In addition, Maria loved color and had a clear zest for life, so feel free to come dressed to celebrate her life, and match her vibrant personality.
All are invited, welcomed and encouraged to share memories of Maria via an open mic during the memorial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to METAvivor, a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
