Born in England, Julie spent her entire adult life in the Goshen area raising six children who are a monument to her caring, love and character. She fought her battle against breast cancer for over 5 years. Through the emotional toll that this disease took on her, she found strength in discovering the people who were going through the same struggle. Through Facebook, she met many women whom she called her, “pink sisters”, and chatted with every day; these women gave her such great joy, and made her feel less alone.
Julie was a down-to-earth, kind-hearted woman with a contagious smile, and a laugh you could never forget. Her 6 children fueled her need to keep fighting, and her grandson, Liam was the light of her life. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2015, and very sadly passed on December 17th of that same year. Her children and multiple grandchildren strive to honor her every day, and miss her dearly. In her memory, a public Facebook group was created by her husband, titled “Julie Tranes Metastatic Breast Cancer Coalition”; all are welcome to join. Stage IV needs more. Let’s find a cure.
