Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister & Friend, Jane Peed, entered into God’s Kingdom on August 2nd, 2023. After being told she had weeks to live when initially diagnosed in March of 2018, Jane fought a courageous, 5+ year battle with Stage IV, metastatic breast cancer.
Those close to Jane know that she could be somewhat stubborn on occasion, but her family was so happy that Jane dug in her heels after that initial diagnosis, got to see the marriage of her youngest daughter, Laura, and the birth of her first two grandchildren, Ryker and Raelyn. Even with all of her health scares and constant pain, Jane made it to the Grand Canyon and even cruised around Europe! Jane was a shining example of how to fight through adversity and not let anything, even a Stage IV cancer diagnosis, stop you from living your life to the fullest.
Jane was born to James and Elizabeth Wright on March 28th, 1953 in Franklin, Kentucky, joining her older sister, Martha Ann. Jane had quite the unique set of hobbies early on – as a young child she loved playing the piano, but the next day you could find her winning trophies for the best pig call (Sooie!) at the local fair. Ultimately determining that there wasn’t much money in pig calling, she decided to attend the University of Kentucky (Go Big Blue!) and graduated with a degree in Business (with a minor in attending every UK basketball and football game). After graduating, she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she built an outstanding career as a CPA.
In 1983, Jane met Blake, and it was a match made in heaven (other than the fact that it is typically frowned upon dating the boss’s son!). After dominating the local beach volleyball courts for a few years, Jane & Blake went on to have 2 beautiful children, Emily and Laura. Jane was the most amazing mother, teaching her kids the value of hard work as they watched her run her own successful accounting practice, while always still finding the time to attend every chorus concert and volleyball game of her kids.
Jane was also a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible.
Jane is survived by so many loving family members, including her husband, Blake; her children and their families, Emily, Richie, Ryker, and Raelyn and Laura and Spencer; and her sister, Martha Ann Lee.
