Erinn Kathleen Guggenheimer of Minnetonka, Minnesota died in her home attended by loved ones on April 2, 2018 after three years of treatment for stage-four breast cancer. Erinn was 36 years old and was born January 9, 1982 in Fridley, Minnesota to Charles “Chuck” and Gretchen (Harris) Nordquist.
Erinn enriched the lives of those around her with her exuberant smile, full laugh, tireless hosting and organizing, and her long-enduring love that was as compassionate as it was clear-eyed. Erinn lived with her heart and mind in plain view, and she invested deeply in relationships so that those around her easily made deep, trusting, and lasting connections with her. She cared endlessly for her two boys and husband. Erinn died without regret except that she couldn’t enjoy more decades of her life.
Erinn was raised in Prescott, Wisconsin until the age of twelve when her family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota. Erinn graduated from Bemidji High School in 2000. She then attended the University of North Dakota and graduated in 2004 with majors in math and secondary education and an endorsement to teach English as a second language. From 2005 to 2017 Erinn served at alternative learning centers within the Northeast Metro 916 independent school district, working with students in grades nine through twelve. Erinn taught math and English as a second language and later acted as dean of the Mahtomedi location. Erinn earned her Masters in Educational Leadership in 2014 from the University of St. Mary’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Erinn married her high school sweetheart Ethan Guggenheimer in Bemidji on July 20, 2002. Erinn and Ethan attended college together and moved to Minneapolis in 2005. In 2006 they bought their first home in North Minneapolis where they began raising Jack, born in 2007, and Caleb, born in 2010. In 2014 the Guggenheimers moved to Minnetonka.
