Candace Reed Watkins Pearson passed away at home on March 22, 2020 after a 20 month battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Candy was the sweetest, most amazing woman that her husband, Tim Pearson, could every wish for! She was passionate about her family Reed Watkins, Maggie Watkins (Jacob Wall), Angela Reed Yakel (Craig Yakel), Christy Reed Simpson (Chris Simpson), stepsons Daniel Pearson, John-Michael Pearson and her parents George Reed and Margaret Reed.
Candy was an Environmental Engineer who worked at CDM-Smith for 13 years. She was a certified Professional Engineer and licensed in several states. She had an incredible work ethic and devotion to her profession.
Candy had a beautiful smile and laugh and it was usually contagious. She enjoyed travelling and we had the opportunity to travel to many places including St Martin (multiple times), Israel, California and many adventures with the Boerners (Brian Boerner, Dorcas Kircher Boerner), Pauls (Beth Paul, Greg Paul) and Whittens (Sherry Whitten, Mike Michael Whitten). She was even planning a big 60th birthday bash to see the Northern Lights.
She never let cancer define her and she was a fierce fighter. She said that she wasn’t given an expiration date and would live accordingly, and she did!
Candy was a voracious reader and that is where you might find her in her down time. It was not uncommon for her to read 3-4 books a week.
Candy was passionate about Scouting, both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and Adult Leadership Training (Woodbadge). She volunteered for many hours of scouting activities.
Candy loved to cook and took great pride in perfecting family recipes handed down through the generations. Her baking was the absolute best – none could top her cookies, cakes and pies!
We all miss her terribly.
