Connect with others living with MBC
Joining a support group that connects you to other people who are living with metastatic breast cancer has many benefits. It can reduce feelings of isolation, helping you feel less alone and more understood. Sharing your experiences and feelings with others on a similar journey can provide emotional validation and support, increasing wellbeing as you navigate a challenging diagnosis. And it can be a source of practical advice and information, allowing you to gather tips for managing MBC. This can help you feel more empowered, while fostering strong bonds of friendship and community.
METAvivor Peer to Peer Support Groups
Our Peer to Peer support groups are designed specifically for people living with metastatic breast cancer. They are safe and supportive spaces to connect with others who truly understand your experiences. They are a place where you can exchange advice, encouragement, challenges, and resources, as well as simply enjoying the company of others. Each group is:
Led by MBC patients
The groups are facilitated by people who are themselves living with MBC, creating an environment of shared understanding and empathy. Leaders and co-leaders receive training from METAvivor.
Focused on MBC
This dedicated focus allows for in-depth discussions and support specifically related to the unique challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer.
Community-based
In-person meetings are held in accessible locations within the community, such as coffee shops or restaurants, rather than in medical settings. Some groups offer a hybrid format so participants can also join by Zoom.
Has a free-flowing format
The groups are typically informal and allow for open conversation on a wide range of topics relevant to the participants.

Other Options for Support
If there isn’t a METAvivor Peer to Peer Support group near you, consider contacting your local medical center to see if they offer a group. Ask your doctors and nurses if they know of a local metastatic breast cancer support group. Some other support groups may promote themselves with flyers on office bulletin boards. You can also ask at wig and prostheses boutiques that cater to breast cancer patients.
You could also choose to join virtual groups, or get one-on-one support by phone. Below are just a few of the resources available to the MBC community.
