Letter from the President
Kelly Shanahan, M.D.
November is my birthday month and also the 12th anniversary of my metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, a.k.a. “metaversary”. I have been volunteering for METAvivor for a decade because I believe in its mission wholeheartedly: to fund MBC-focused research; to advocate for increased federal research funding and policies to improve the lives of people living with MBC; and to provide support to our community.
METAvivor cannot exist without you, and we cannot fund research without your financial support. Our Scientific Advisory Board meets this week to review grant applications and decide which to fund. How many we fund is contingent on how much money we raise. This Giving Tuesday please join me and the entire Board of Directors in donating to METAvivor.
