Donate a Vehicle
Giving your vehicle is easy and impactful. Vehicle donations are processed through CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services), a trusted 501(c)(3) charity that has helped raise over $600 million for nonprofits since 2003. Just go to our page on the CARS website, and complete the form to get started with donating your vehicle. Someone will contact you to set up a convenient time to pick up your vehicle. Proceeds benefit METAvivor, with a portion going to CARS, and are used to sustain operations. Learn more.
Make a Bequest
Many supporters ask how they can include METAvivor in their will. Leaving a gift in your estate plans is a powerful and generous way to support research for metastatic breast cancer, even after your lifetime.
We encourage you to speak with your attorney to decide what’s best for you. Here are three common ways to leave a bequest, along with suggested language to share with your legal advisor:
Specific Bequest
This means giving a particular amount of money or a specific item. Suggested wording:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to METAVIVOR RESEARCH AND SUPPORT (EIN 37-1578088), located in Middleton, WI, the sum of $________ (or a description of a specific asset), for the benefit of its metastatic breast cancer research fund.”
Residuary Bequest
This allows you to leave what’s left of your estate after other gifts and expenses are paid. Suggested wording:
“All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to METAVIVOR RESEARCH AND SUPPORT (EIN 37-1578088), located in Middleton, WI, for its metastatic breast cancer research fund.”
Contingency Bequest
This takes effect only if your primary beneficiary does not survive you. Suggested wording:
“I devise and bequeath the residue of the property, real and personal and wherever situated, owned by me at my death, to (name of beneficiary), if (she/he) survives me. If (name of beneficiary) does not survive me, I devise and bequeath my residuary estate to METAVIVOR RESEARCH AND SUPPORT (EIN 37-1578088), located in Middleton, WI, for its metastatic breast cancer research fund.”
