Gerberi, Marie Bernadette (nee: Hegarty), age 72, of Oakland, on Monday, November 9, 2015. Born and raised in Paterson and then Elmwood Park, Marie has lived in Oakland since 1988. Marie received Masters’ Degrees in Nursing and Hospital Administration and taught nursing for many years, starting at Felician College, then Elizabeth General Hospital and finally with Rockland Community College. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Nursing School Alumni and a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes.
Marie was the beloved wife of Larry Gerberi. Loving step-mother of Lisa Donoho and her husband Neal of Alma, IL. Dear grandmother of Tyler Ross and Daniel Wilkins. Marie is also survived by several loving cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Hegarty (2009).
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Franklin Lakes, meeting at church. Interment will be private. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne.
