Cherylyn Marie Burns (nee Higgins), of Marlton, NJ passed away on Saturday, August 12,2017, at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center, Voorhees, NJ. She was 58 years old.
Mrs. Burns was a resident of Mount Laurel, NJ, before moving to Marlton 5 years ago. She was a communicant of the Church of Saint Isaac Jogues, in Marlton. Mrs. Burns was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved spending time with her enormous extended family. She also enjoyed a number of activities and hobbies, including traveling, photography, biking, walking, volunteering, listening to music, and organizing. She was especially fond of spending time on the beach at LBI. Mrs. Burns was known for always having a positive outlook on life, all the way until the end. She reminded us always to keep an “it is what it is” attitude and to find laughter in our days.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob (Haggar) Burns; children, Amy, Maggie, and Jackson Burns; parents, Norman (Bucky) Higgins and Lillian (Cookie) Higgins; sisters, Colleen Higgins Panetta (Ron) and Kara Higgins Wahlgren (George);brothers, Michael Higgins (Mary) and Daniel Higgins (Joann); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her 6 girlies.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16, at 10:00 AM, at the Church of Saint Isaac Jogues, 349 Evesboro Medford Road, Marlton. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, 25 Fostertown Road, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to METAvivor to support metastatic breast cancer research at www.metavivor.org.
