I was not afraid as I left this life because I know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is my salvation. I know what my future holds. I am saddened by the thought of what I will miss and those I’m leaving behind, but I have fulfilled God’s plan for me and I am looking forward to my rewards in Heaven.
I will not ask you not to mourn from time to time because it is healing. I will ask that you get to know Jesus Christ because I want for you to have what I have. I also want for this not to be a goodbye, but a hope to greet you someday at the gates of Heaven.
Now stop crying and do me this favor… Stop and smell the flowers, notice the sunrise; when you see something pretty like a sunflower or humming bird, sunset or fall leaves, think of me and remember not my death but the good times and the love I have for you all.
Now to steal words from all my favorite songwriters: Celebrate me home for my chains are broken and I’ve been set free.
I’ve prayed before this day for strength, comfort and peace to carry you thru.
