Danielle was diagnosed in January of 2016 with Breast Cancer. Once she found out she was determined to fight, and to fight hard. February 2016, she had a double mastectomy. She did a series of chemo medication, and everything was looking good. She was in remission for 2 years! A few months after she got the news it spread to her liver. Once again, she fought and this time even harder. She tried chemo after chemo that helped stabilize the growth. When those chemo’s stopped working, she tried every trial drug she was approved for. Things worked for almost 4 years until around October of 2021 when she had severe side effects. This lead Danielle and her team to decide to stop the trial, but because of her side effects they waited a little bit to before trying something else. In this time her insurance company would not approve her new treatment. About a month later things get sorted out she goes for treatment but to her surprise they admit her to the ER because her blood work was concerning. She stays a week in the hospital where she started getting weak and not being able to walk. She also started losing vision in her left eye. Her doctors order an MRI where they find it has now spread to her brain. We meet with the radiation doctor and set up her treatments, she needed 10. We also met with a Neuro brain doctor that explained exactly what all this meant. She had let us know it has spread to her spinal fluid as well and because of the severity, there was no treatments that can change the prognosis. She let us know typically about 3-4 months. She didn’t care she was determined to fight so she did. She made it to 4 treatments before being hospitalized for excruciating pain, they also let us know there was nothing else the hospital could do and they had to move her to hospice. She was moved on 1/26/2022 where she died peacefully on 1/29/2022. She died at 37, 1 week before her 38th birthday.
