Vanessa Irene Ashley, age 57, died May 26, 2022 in Vero Beach, Florida. Vanessa was born January 31, 1965 in Granitsa, Greece. She was adopted early in life by her loving parents Robert L Snyder and June (Knight) Snyder (deceased). She married John R. Ashley in 1985, later divorced. She is survived by her adoring life partner Robert A Crosby, her two sons Jason Ashley and Christopher Ashley and her dog Toby, the loves of her life. She is also survived by her loving brother Vincent R. Snyder (Kris) and her natural mother Maria Tsigas, four Greek sisters and two Greek brothers with many nieces and nephews including many English cousins (June).
Vanessa had terrific enthusiasm to experience people and the world. She had a zest for life and travel and made friends readily wherever she went. She loved hot weather, sunshine and the water. She graduated from Wayne HS in Huber Heights Ohio in 1983. She served honorably in the US Air Force Reserves for many years. After completing her bachelors degree, she became a passionate social worker coordinating adoption services for children in need in the State of Kentucky. Vanessa was a longtime resident of Northern Kentucky and happily established family roots in the Villa Hills community where she enjoyed Cincinnati Bengals and Reds games. She expanded her family by hosting and mentoring many exchange HS students from around Europe over the years. During her cancer battle, she served as the KY State Captain for Metavivor.
